California corrections officials stopped enforcing portions of Jessica's Law in Los Angeles County after a judge ruled that the 2006 statute restricting how close sex offenders can live to parks or schools is unconstitutional. A Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge concluded that the measure left sex offenders with the choice of being homeless or going to jail because the law restricts them from living in large areas of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Times - "San Diego to Tijuana Drug Tunnel Discovered; 25 Tons of Marijuana Seized"
United States federal officials raided a San Diego warehouse and found a lighted, ventilated passageway crossing into Tijuana, Mexico. More than 25 tons of marijuana were confiscated. The scale of the operation is believed to be the work of a major Mexican drug cartel and comes two weeks after Mexican federal police discovered 134 tons of marijuana in an industrial area near Tijuana.
