200 Pounds of Marijuana Seized at La Habra Heights Home

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies seized an estimated $1 million worth of marijuana in a La Habra Heights home after responding to a report of two men, one bleeding, the other in possession of a rifle, outside the home. A Sheriff's Department statement said the situation unfolded when deputies arrived at the residence on Skyline Vista Drive after residents reporting seeing the two men. The deputies could not locate them, but they later learned that a gunshot victim matching his description was in a local hospital.
A search warrant was obtained and police located about of 200 pounds of marijuana, packaged for sales. Detectives also located a digital scale, plastic baggies, and other associated paraphernalia commonly utilized in the sale and distribution of marijuana. Police arrested Edward Smetak on suspicion of drug and gun possession.
