Three men were arrested and a fourth was being sought for stealing tools from construction sites and farms in Ventura County, California, in a series of nearly 50 burglaries. Sheriff's detectives in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Riverside counties started an investigation after noticing a pattern of burglars cutting their way into metal storage containers at rural work sites to steal tools, air compressors, welding machines, water pumps, drills and saws.
Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Dominguez, of Los Angeles, and issued arrest warrants for Osman Enamorado and Henry Briones who were already in custody for a similar burglary in Riverside County. A fourth suspect, Wilfredo Jimenez, is still at large. Police detectives suspect them of stealing an estimated $150,000 worth of tools over the past year and selling them to a middleman in Los Angeles. Police detectives linked the burglary suspects with DNA evidence, fingerprints, shoe impression analysis and surveillance. Police also have identified sites in Santa Barbara County the group may have burglarized.
