Victorville Deputy Arrested for Sex With Teen Explorer

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a Victorville, California sheriff's deputy was arrested for having sex with a teen Explorer. Based on an anonymous tip, Anthony Benjamin, of Beaumont was arrested for oral copulation with a person under 18 and penetration with a foreign object with a person under 18. He worked as a deputy at the Victorville sheriff’s station and had been with the department for more than five years.

Police said the incident between the 17-year-old Explorer and the deputy took place during a recent ride-along. Benjamin was released on bail and was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. Benjamin’s arrest marks the second arrest of a San Bernardino County deputy for having a sexual relationship with a minor Explorer in less than a month. In April, Deputy Nathan Gastineau was arrested for committing a lewd act with a minor who was a 16-year-old Explorer.
