Methamphetamine Smuggler Caught at LAX Airport

A Compton, California man bound for Japan has been charged with federal drug trafficking after Transportation Security Administration officials at Los Angeles LAX Airport discovered almost 5 pounds of methamphetamine concealed inside his backpack.

Lemuel Espinosa appeared in a Los Angeles federal court U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents placed him under arrest. TSA officers discovered the methamphetamine in his carry-on bag during the X-ray screening process as he prepared to board a flight to Tokyo.
