Dear Steve,
I just wanted to write and thank you for helping me through a very difficult and unhappy time in my life. Probably to you, professionally, this must seem a very day to day situation. But to me, it has been a very traumatic time. Your expertise, support and “good news/bad news” communication certainly helped me through some of my darker moments. I have done a lot of thinking about my disease and my stupidity in thinking that I'm not like other alcoholics. As we discussed, things could have been a whole lot worse and in my life, as well as innocent others could have been ruined. Instead I feel I have learned a valuable lesson and intend to utilize it for the rest of my life. Once again, your help has been valuable and I thank my higher power every morning and every night for the lesson I learned and for people like you.
